Headings — Organise Your AI Prompts

In Markdown, the symbol # is called a hash or number sign. You can use it to create headings and divide your AI prompt into clear sections. There are six heading levels, from H1 to H6.

Why use headings in AI prompts?

Headings organise your instructions into clear sections, making it easier for AI to distinguish between roles, objectives, source documents, rules and output requirements.

Tip: Use # for main headings, ## for sections and ### for subsections. Always include a space after the hash symbols. Heading levels organise information but do not automatically give instructions higher priority.
